Sicko

CJ was a little sick on Tuesday this week. He has a high temp and was just not himself. When I got home from work, he was laying on the couch listening to a CD he looked up at me and said, "Mama I'm sick!" That little voice...so sad....it was heart breaking. He continued to lay on the couch for the remainder of the day occasionally telling me, "I'm so tired! I need a nap." So at 6:30 off he went to bed! Luckily, he slept it off and is back to himself.

The Very Hungry CJ

In school, I am always teaching my kids about making connections either self to text or text to text. Tonight, my 31/2 year old made a self to text connection. One of CJ's books of choice for a bedtime story was The Very Hungry Caterpillar. When we got to Saturday - CJ went through all of the food the caterpillar ate. Then he went back and this is what he said," Chocolate cake yum - I like chocolate cake. Ice cream I like my ice cream in a bowl. Pickle - I eat pickles for lunch with daddy. Cheese - I eat cheese and grilled cheese. Salami -I like salami. Lollipop - I like the lollipops from the basket (after his haircut). Pie - I love pie for dessert. Sausage - I like sausage (I don't think he's every had sausage). Muffin (I know..it's a cupcake, but he thinks it's a muffin) - I like blueberry muffins. Watermelon - I like watermelon with lunch." Very cute and already a star student!

Happy Birthday Uncle Ritch

Today it's my little brother's birthday!!! Happy birthday!!!! I love and miss you very much!

YES!

I found someone to go to a New Kids On The Block concert with me:) I bought the tickets last night. My friend L from work was a closet fan:) CS did agree to go with me, but I felt so guilty spending so much money when he didn't really want to go. I was telling L this, and she jumped at the chance to go with me:) I'm so excited - but the concert's not until September so I have awhile to wait!

It's Done!

The bathroom is complete!!!!! Well, sorta. It's painted - now it needs touch ups and a towel rack, etc. Take a look at the before and after. Sorry I don't know how to rotate the pictures. Notice the new toliet!!

Don't Worry Be Happy

I was on the phone with my brother last night b#%^&*^$ about well....everything that has been bothering me lately - in particular my job search or lack thereof. This was the second night in a row that Ritch and I were on the phone with extended conversations. At one point I was ready to cry - again- and CJ turned to me and said, "Just be happy, Mama!" Wow! He's right - who knew I could learn from my 3 1/2 year old. If I just accept everything as is, I would be happy. And in reality - it could be worse. So, today I am going to "JUST BE HAPPY!"

The Countdown is On!

There are 26 days of school left. But I have it broken down - 2 weeks from today is a Monday off - then June is filled with Field Days, picnic, and field trips!!!! We are getting there!!!

My Day

I had a great Mother's Day!! We stayed over at Grandma and Grandpa's the night before, so CJ woke up too early - 5:30! And I thought UGH - I don't get to sleep in on my day! But he let me lay with him on his little bed on the floor. He talked up a storm about his buddies "Baby Duckie" and "Mommy Duckie", and then every once in awhile he would bust out, "Happy Mother's Day!" Finally, the rest of the family got up and we had a breakfast cooked by Daddy. We packed up the cars and headed home - of course not listening to my music but CJ's newest obsession! I got my gifts when we got home - the perfect gifts! CJ and Daddy had gone to a store last week and made me an apron - lots of CJ's drawings - I love it! It says No. 1 Mama. CJ kept saying, "Look what I made!". Then Daddy gave me the fit of the SPA!!! I can't wait to go. He realized my recent stress and wanted me to have a day of de stress...AHH - I can't wait. Daddy mowed the yard - another gift for me as it was getting trailer trashy (there it is again!). With our house right on the corner I feel that everyone looks at it! We bought new outdoor furniture and put together the table, but were too exhausted to do the chairs. For the first time, CS made ribs on the grill - I love ribs but he doesn't. And they were awesome!!!! Now he's going to have to do it more often!!! He liked them, too. It's different when you make them on your own:) THANK YOU CJ AND DADDY - YOU MADE MAMA VERY HAPPY!!

White Trash

I joke all the time about being white/trailer trash - and it's ok because that is my roots:) So a few weeks ago, Uncle P was babysitting while I went out. When I came home I wanted a glass of wine, but didn't want to go to the basement to get a wine glass. I poured wine (Mommy's Time Out) into a plastic cup and sat to have a chat with Uncle P. P was wearing his wife beater tank - how classy are we??? Wine in a plastic cup and wife beaters!! I think that's pretty white trash - what do you think Ritch?

They Made It!

Dad and Ritch made it to WA. late Friday night!!! On Ritch's street the truck broke down - for the third time - at least they were home!!!!! It was Sunshine's b-day on Saturday - so I guess Dad was her b-day present - she's so lucky!!! :) I am happy the boys made it safe and in time for the b-day/mother's day events!

You Are Never Going To Believe

So Ritch and Dad set out from IN. on Wednesday. They made it to South Dakota and stayed over - early yesterday (Thursday) they headed out and entered in Montana. An hour into the state they hit an antelope - yes that's right antelope. This set them back 6 hours - and they had to be towed back to the town they had started in. What luck!!!

They got back on the road and headed towards Idaho - they were 300 miles away when....the truck broke down - the radiator didn't hold up. I haven't spoken to them since they were waiting for a tow last night. They are feeling bummed and could use some good energy right now. Keep them in your thoughts!

Eval day

Today was CJ's evaluation day. It went well - we think. Who knows what they were really looking for and what they expected to get out of it. I took the day off, and the morning was rough for us. CJ doesn't do well when his routine is different. But the end of the day turned out nice. When we got to the school for his evaluation the teachers introduced themselves to him and he said, "And this is Daddy, this is Mama and I'm CJ!" What a show!!!! All in all it was a good day. Will keep you updated when we hear back from them.

On the Road Again

Dad and Ritch have left our home state of Indiana and are venturing towards WA. They hope to drive 16 hours today then stop and sleep. I hope the weather out there has gotten better and they are able to get through the mid west states without a problem.

Trip update

The boys are in Indiana visiting family and friends! They will stay for a few days then head west. They are having a great time.

Bathroom update

I put a second coat of primer on today!!! Go me!!! Only 4 weeks into this project. Hopefully it will be finished by June. Oh we also bought a new toilet today!!!! YIPPEEEE!!!!

Baking

I love to bake....I just don't have the time to do it very often. CJ also loves to bake mostly because when we use the Kitchen Aide something is spinning and he gets to lick the spoon.

Trip Update

Dad and Ritch left Florida last night at 9:00 - I just talked to them and they are outside of Nashville - this is where Ritch's plan was at 6:00 last night:) They plan to make it to IN. today. They are going to hang out there for a few days and visit with family and friends. Don't know how Ritch is doing it, he has been up for 24 hours. I guess military trained helps with long road trips!

We are thinking of Dad and Ritch as they begin their journey west bound tonight!! Please keep them in your thoughts as they travel across the country together. And for those of you who know these two you need to think beyond safety on the road, think sanity for the both of them! They both think they are the funniest person on the face of the earth and may drive each other crazy before there first stop!!! Good luck my family!!! Be safe and try not get on each other's nerves!!!!

A Baby Fix

We had a very busy day today - not planned either, it just worked out that way. We all went to the mall today to buy outdoor furniture and a lawn mower! YIPPEE!!! Our yard looks a little trailer trashy - the yard is in desperate need of a cut. The furniture we chose is so nice, much better than anything we actually have in our house! Then CJ and I went to visit Baby T today. She is getting so big - except for her feet. She has these little tiny feet - so cute! Of course the girls in the family - mainly Aunt B and I - can't wait for her to be able to wear shoes. CJ, as expected, isn't thrilled with Baby T. She was crying and that didn't make him happy. Then I held her - apparently too long for CJ's liking, he threw a minor fit over it, waking her from her nap - because when you tell CJ to "be quiet" he insists on "NO, JUST BE LOUD!" Sorry Aunt B. I was very happy to hold Baby T and soak in that baby love though. Aunt B you will be happy to know that when we left, CJ said ,"I had fun with Aunt B and Baby T." Later when we talked to Daddy CJ told him that ,"Baby T was sad because she had a tummy ache, but I had fun." CUTE.
