First of all this should have been Spring Break with the weather more springlike than winter. We started our break on Monday heading to Grandma and Grandpas. CJ played with them while CS and did something we never do....date night! We got dressed up and headed to the city to eat at one of Bobby Flays restaurants - Bar Americain. It was a beautiful night in the city - it wasn't too cold and no rain:) On our walk to the restaurant we saw Edward Scissorhands! Only in New York!! We had the best dinner we have ever had! Everything was superb - from the wine to the coffee! We stopped at Rockefeller Plaza on our way back to the train to sit and take in the city. It was the perfect night!
On Tuesday morning we got up and headed to Grandpa's factory for a tour. CJ was so excited! He held Grandpa's hand and toured all the rooms watching how things were made. Grandpa told him he could take something home and he chose a piece of foam - he clung to it like it was the best thing ever!!! After our tour we surprised Grandma at her job. She showed us around and introduced us to all the people at the hospital. Then she treated us to lunch. CJ had his foam with him the entire time!
I needed to go to my classroom on Wednesday to clean up - I have some visitors coming on Monday. As I spent the day cleaning the boys went swimming at the Y and had some of their own fun.
Thursday we went to the sub museum in Groton. One of CJs favorite places to visit. This time he actually listened to the tour instead of running through the sub. We stopped at the outlets - CJ needs new shoes. Of course none of the stores had blue ones that he liked, but mom and dad found something.
I spent most of Friday working on report cards (as I type this Saturday morning I still have 6 to go!). We went with the Scouts to see the Harlem Globetrotters at night. CJ got to sit on the court during the warm up - and he laughed like we haven't heard him laugh before! Everything was funny to him!
I will post pictures of our little vacation soon!
