It was a hopping place! We sat down at a table with a tin pail filled with napkins and utensils. All drinks are served in various sized mason jars. I had a beerita- part beer part margarita. Perfect drink for a summer night. Appetizers were biscuits with honey butter and hush puppies.
For dinner I had a pulled pork sandwich with sides of carrot and raisin salad and Mac and cheese. Delicious!!! I really enjoyed the carrot and raisin salad. I have been trying to find a recipe that looks similar but no luck yet.
We were so stuffed! We walked back to the hotel seeing the sights and listening to the Friday night concert-a little preview. We thought we would go to the movies, but it was getting late.
Saturday morning we hopped on the T subway and headed to Quincy Market. I just love how charming this part of the city is. Cobblestone, lots of unique buildings. It was just as I remembered it. The one thing I have vivid memories of is the street performers, and the day didn't disappoint in that area. We saw jugglers, drummers, singers, guitarist, dancers, live statues....all terrific! We had skipped breakfast due to such a big dinner the night before. For lunch we ate at an outside table at the Irish Pub Ned Devines.
The concert at Fenway was amazing! One of the best I have ever been to. All of my favorite songs, great seats. A perfect birthday weekend celebration.
