Noneventful weekend

We had a very blah kind of weekend. We didn't have plans, and many of the chores that are usually reserved for the weekend were done during the week. We are a family that looks forward to summer week days. Chris had to work today, which he usually doesn't have to do. So CJ and I are kinda sick of staring at each other. We did manage some outdoor time, as it isn't as humid today as it has been. Tomorrow we will go to the beach and hopefully have something more interesting to blog about.

Our Tiffy is sick and we can't be there to bring her soup and help make her feel better. So this will have to do instead. We hope you feel better soon!!!!!!

Busy Day

I got up at my usual school time today to go in and finish packing up my classroom. Boy was it hard to get up!!! I finished up then met the boys at the chiropractor, then we went to the grocery store. CJ played outside with his new favorite toy - a $5 plastic lawn mower. It is meant for a one year old, so he is twice its size, but he LOVES it!!!!! He "mows" for hours. After mowing I convinced him (and myself) to go for a walk. He opted for the stroller - which is better for me then I can really hoof it. We walked for an hour!!! Now we are relaxing before dinner! Ahh...summer!!!!!

My Birthday Weekend

My birthday began with the ending of school on Wednesday!!! An early birthday present! Then on Friday, Chris, CJ and I went to Mystic Seaport. It was a beautiful day, and we had a great time!!! CJ had fun pretending to be a pirate for most of the day. Then Chris and I went out to dinner that night. As usual, the skies opened up just as we went to dinner. We were supposed to eat outside, but had a quick change of plans. On Saturday, we spent the day lounging!! Daddy and CJ made me dinner, then I went to a stamping party at a friend's house. Today was our anniversary. The weather put a damper on our plans, but we made the best of it anyway! All in all a wonderful birthday weekend!!!!

Being a pirate

Cooking for his crew. Being a pirate is hard work - Pirate CJ needed a little rest!

Last Week

This last week has been very hectic. The last week of school is always my busiest time of year. Report cards, thank you gifts, thank notes, packing up the classroom. It is all so much to do. But it is over and now I have the summer!!! So exciting. I had a tough year, and it was bitter sweet to say goodbye because even though it took a long time for the kids to gel, they finally did. I worked very hard for many of the families and children in my class this year. I had more than my fair share of difficult kids and parents. But they all taught me something about myself as a teacher. So for that I will miss them. What I won't miss is the many, many, meetings! Maybe next year I can actually be a teacher!

The Zoo

Chris and CJ went to the zoo one night while I was at a work thing. It took CJ awhile to get into it, but once he did he had a good time.

My boys

Here is a pic of the boys from Father's Day.

Party

Last night Chris and I went to a BBQ at a friend's house. We had such a great time!! Chris only knew the host, but meet a lot of new people last night. He easily had plenty to talk about - baseball!!!! We realized that this was the first time we were at a grown up party without CJ since a wedding we went to about a month after CJ was born. YIKES! Hopefully, now that we have a wonderful sitter that lives right down the road - we will start being invited to more grown up parties.
Tiff - my friend Liz from Royle (do you remember her she left and stays home now) said to say hi. Oh yeah - and you're never going to believe this, but when we got home our babysitter had cleaned our house - yes it's true!!!!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the daddies we know and love!!! Grumpy Grampy, Uncle Ritchie, Uncle Charlie - we miss you guys and hope you are having a great daddy's day!!! Grandpa, Uncle Mike, and Daddy - we know you will have a great day here at our BBQ!!!

I will have no excuse for not getting report cards done by Friday now!!! And yes Tiff, I am on my way to getting them done. I have entered the grades into everyone's - now the comments!!!

MNO

I had a great night out today for Moms Night Out! It was a Sex and the City MNO with dinner and Cosmos (appletini for me) first then the movie. I went to dinner but opted out of the movie as I get up so early I didn't think I could stay awake that long - but here it is almost midnight and I am still up!!! I had a great time, and am enjoying hanging out with my new friends. I am looking forward to the summer when I can get to know these moms even better! So let's drink to more MNO!!!!

PPT

We had CJ's PPT on Wednesday. It went really well. He will be receiving services beginning this summer. I am sure it will be hard on everyone at first as he will be going three days a week for four hours at a time, but he needs it. To those of you who have been lending me an ear and a shoulder through this process a big thank you! I am lucky to have such great friends!!!

Field Days

Today was Field Day at school. I love field day - it's very different from what I remember as a kid. I remember popping balloons, water relays, egg in the spoon relay, sack races things like that. At my school we have relays - hurdles, running, and water - Frisbee golf, four square, tug of war, and mat ball. I also remember getting little ribbons - our kids get Popsicles at the end. All in all it is a fun day - exhausting because yes I get very involved and was doing hurdle relays today:) In the 180 days of school, this is the 1 day of fun 6 year olds get to have!
