We are about half way through our summer. It has been a nice one - we have tried to go to the beach as often as we can. This past week - it rained too much so we didn't make it one day. However, the week before that - we were there every day! CJ loves the beach - it has a calming effect on him...most of the time. We did try a new beach a few weeks ago, and that was rough for him. Change - he then stepped on a shell in the water and cut his toe - he didn't hurt him (he has a high tolerance to pain). However, I wanted to clean it and put a band aid on it so it wouldn't get infected. Well...CJ hates band aids - so this brought his time at the beach to a grumpy state. He asked to go to "our beach" the next day. Much better!
We went to Six Flags, which is so much fun for CJ. We have had sleepovers at Grandma and Grandpa's. And we have just spent time as a family together - eating a meal together, playing outside, doing chores. It is so rare the rest of the year - this time - so we do appreciate when it is here.
We have a few things left on our list of things to do for the summer. They include, going to the Bronx Zoo, going to a baseball game, riding a train, and a visit to Mystic. I hope we can get them all in:)
